Objective

 

Targeting to achieve the goal, the following objectives are considered-

·     Strengthening the exploration capabilities of GSB by upgrading the existing analytical & research facilities to the International level.

·    Enhancing the level of detection of valuable minerals and elements.

·     Human resource development (HRD) to support the advance level of research and exploration works through home and abroad training of 91 (ninety-one) personnel.

·     Creating congenial atmosphere for advance level research.

Approval status ( in details)

Project yet not approved but included in the green page of ADP allocation book of 2009-2010. The DPP was reviewed by the project analysis committee chaired by Secretary, Energy and Mineral Resource Division, Ministry of Power Energy and Mineral Resources. On 12-11-2009 twenty copies of the DPP were sent to Planning Commission for final approval through concern Ministry. PEC meeting was held on 20-01-2010 chaired by Planning secretary. As per decision of the meeting the DPP was Recast and finally submitted to the Administrative Ministry for final approval. The  recast DPP was approved by the   secretary of the MEMRD  on 05-03-2009 and 35 copies of the DPP were sent to Planning Commission for final approval.

2.   Geoscientific Activities for Mineral Investigation - 2nd Phase (2011 - 2014).

3. Geoinformation for Urban Development, Bangladesh (GUD). Financed by Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), Germany (2013 - 2016).

 

Projects under Process

1.   Identification and Economic Assessment of the Valuable Minerals in the River Sands of Bangladesh (July 2014 - June 2017).

2.   Establishment of Advanced Geoscience Research Centre at Mirpur, Dhaka. (July 2010 – June 2014).
